Digital Textbooks to students

In our school all our courses are e-books and we use the Ellibs Ebookstore as a provider. The students log in to our LMS Opit and there they find the course material, digital articles as PDFs and the entire e-library with textbooks free for the students to borrow. Free e-material has great advantages for both the students, such as cost savings, environmental advantages and better updates of information and us.
Mashable is writing a bit misleading post about the digital textbooks in higher education today, they argue that it is the students who aren’t ready but of course it’s the educational institution who isn’t ready. My guess is that the students are willing to embrace the e-books, especially if the libraries are taking the lead!
“Digital textbooks are indeed a potential game changer, and they are likely going to be a major part of the future of academia. A year from now, the National Associated of College Stores estimates that digital textbooks could account for 15% of all textbook sales. However, for that to happen, textbook publishers, ebook reader manufacturers, and schools must first address some of the major hurdles that are making students wary of electronic books”.
