When photojournalist Dan Habib had his son Samuel eight years ago, he had never really thought about inclusion.

Now, it is such an important issue in his life that he has made the documentary film Including Samuel, that came out last fall. The film takes a closer look at educational and social inclusion of youth with disabilities as a civil rights issue. It follows the Habib family’s efforts to include their son in all aspects of school, community and the learning process, stressing the importance of allowing diversity in our society. Through the film, Habib hopes to fight against the huge amount of prejudice that still exists towards people with disabilities – the work of inclusion could in fact be  one of the last frontiers of desegregation.
