MKFC Stockholm College is based in Sweden and we are very proud of Swedish Professor Hans Rosling who made it as number 96 on the Magazine Foreign Policies top 100 lists of thinkers that have shaped the world this year.

Hans Rosling is a professor in International Health and one of the founders of Gapminder Foundation that works to make statistics understandable and easy to use.

This is an example of his pedagogical skills when he talks at TEDIndia and graphs global economic growth since 1858 and predicts the exact date that India and China will outstrip the US.

Ben Bernanke chief of the U.S. central bank tops the list while United States President Barack Obama comes second.

Gapminder is a non-profit venture promoting sustainable global development and achievement of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals by increased use and understanding of statistics and other information about social, economic and environmental development at local, national and global levels.

Google acquired Gapminders incredible statistical tool Trendalyzer in 2006.
“Gapminder Foundation now fills the Trendalyzer with statistical content and use the resulting animations to fulfill our aim by:

Making time series freely available in Gapminder World and Gapminder Countries.

Producing videos, Flash presentations and PDF charts showing major global development trends with animated statistics and colorful graphics”.

About Gapminder

This video describes the “development of three centers of trade, Shanghai, New York and Mumbai. Also, a comparison of the capitals: Beijing, Washington, D.C. and New Delhi. And finally, a note from Professor Rosling on how one can measure the progress of President Obama’s intentions to improve the health system of the US”.

This is statistic visualisation that is truly remarkably!
