One of many meetings

We got a lot of inspiration and exchange of knowledge’s and experiences! We met our friends from last year’s conferences and we also made new valuable contacts. eLearning Africa is a very good way of meeting interesting people doing wonderful things and our network grows bigger.

Thank you for a wonderful week with experiences! It was exciting!

The MKFC team for Community Action Plans in Ghana has just returned from the small northern village of Niliyendo. This was the first visit in the project area, and the aim was to get in touch with people there and together with them define local problems, start organising a working structure and make a documentation of the present situation. Kay Obiri, leader of the team, gave us some short impressions from this first visit

–It has been quite an experience these past days in the village, the way of life, the people, the children, their environment, have all been something that we never imagined possible, in this day and age, Kay writes.

–Though we were faced with some obstacles, we knew the plan ahead and so we struggled and overcame. I had originally brought two cameras to use for pictures as well as recording documentation, but after our arrival, one camera stopped working, and so we were left with only one for the whole time!

–We were able to talk to the people, and motivate them, we were able to determine their problems with them, and we were able to help them. They themselves along with us have chosen leaders to oversee everything we have established in our absence, Kay continues.

–I know that it will not change overnight, but I also know that with our determination to help, and as they see that, they too will be motivated to continue what we have started with them even when we are not present, Kay completes his message.

Now the team works with their first documentation, then prepares for the next step in the project, before returning to Niliyendo.

More stories and pictures will appear within short, so follow the grassroot work for local change at this blog.
