Dengue Fever Awareness Campaign by Faisal Public School Multan, Pakistan

Dengue fever has been increasingly becoming an epidemic in Pakistan. Due to the high cost of treatment, the disease spread more rapidly in 2011 than in previous years. As of November 2011, it has killed over 300 people in the last several months and over 14,000 are infected by this mosquito born disease in Pakistan. Considering the threats of this fever, Faisal Public school organized a campaign and seminar at school to make children aware about the possible precautions and locally available solutions to get cure against this disease. Children were exposed to different educational materials, practices, solutions and preventive methodologies against dengue fever. Children took part in this campaign by reading materials about locally available solutions, writing stories, poems and by performing in a play about telling the stories of possible solutions. This interesting movie is partly in English and Urdu and written by school children. The movie directed by Mr. Babar Maqbool Khan with the help of children.
Mr. Khan is working as school head and has been a student of MKFC In-Service Teacher Training during 2009-2011.

Storyboards in Learning

I think the storyboard is very effective activity for learners because the whole class took participate in it. Through this way, learners can represent their unique talent and multiple intelligences. Their creativity will be improved. They will work in groups because group tasks present practical activities that engage students in an enjoyable and active learning process. During this activity group discussion improved the learner’s reflective and communicative skills. It also helps the learners to guide their imaginative writing. We will continue this technique in all sections. Babar Maqbool Khan, teacher at Faisal Public School Multan, Pakistan and MKFC Teacher training student.

Join our Cause for One Teacher for every Child

In this Cause we lift examples where teachers and children present learning processes in Teacher Training and schools all over the world. Children’s rights to play for example and create are important for the future. We know the children are our and future! Therefore we need to lift those children who are outside of education, security and rights. With education poverty can be reduced and health can grow.

As a tutor and course developer in teacher training I have examples from teachers, children and parents from different countries. We are working with the British standard of curriculum, which is used in many countries in the world. UN:s goals about Education for All is our aim in cooperation with partners in each country. Today more than 10 million new teachers needed to fill education goals, UN warns.

Without teachers many children are excluded from education. Teacher training (vocational level) makes it possible to get pedagogical skills to stimulate learning development for teachers, children, parents and community.

Once again, welcome to share your experiences and thoughts in this field on our Cause, our homepage Sharing Awareness and our Facebook group! Maybe you have memories from good teachers and what made you happy to learn? Maybe you have experiences also about what makes your child or children stimulate and eager to learn? Welcome to share it!
